On June 7, 2018, the "2018 International Engineering Outstanding Persons" award ceremony was presented at the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Summit Forum. Comrade Wei Tao, project manager of the company's Ethiopian OMO3 sugar factory, was awarded the title of "Outstanding Person in International Engineering 2018".

The "2018 International Engineering Outstanding Persons" selection event was held for the first time by the China Association of Foreign Contractors on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up and the 5th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative. The purpose of the event is to promote the outstanding deeds of advanced figures in the industry, to play a pioneering role as a model, to shape Chinese brand name, to tell Chinese stories, to convey Chinese voices, and to promote closer international economic cooperation. A total of 15 executives from China’s state-owned companies won the award.
